Expedia Seeks PR Agency

BOSTON Online travel company Expedia is in the final stages of a review for its estimated $1 million public relations business, according to sources.

The Bellevue, Wash.-based client last week cut to finalists including incumbent independent Edelman, Omnicom Group’s Ketchum PR and independent Waggener Edstrom, sources said. All of the shops are pitching out of their West Coast offices, sources said.

The client is seeking a shop with a West Coast presence to handle media relations, sources said. A decision in the search is expected next week. Expedia officials did not return calls. The agencies either could not be reached or declined to comment.

IPG’s Deutsch/LA in Marina del Rey, Calif., handles Expedia’s $65 million ad account, which is not in play.
