Tom Brady was retired for less time than it took Hertz to create ads making fun of that retirement.

The three-time National Football League MVP, five-time Super Bowl MVP and seven-time World Champion announced his retirement on Feb. 1—only to say on March 13 that he’d return as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ quarterback.

Roughly two months after Brady’s 40-day “retirement,” car rental company Hertz and agency partner Shadow Lion have him in an ad telling an actor to imagine he’s been in the same job for 22 years, retired on a whim and took a road trip, only to ultimately decide all he needed was a vacation.

Where Brady saw the potential end of his career and the Buccaneers saw an impromptu change in their plans for the NFL Draft, Hertz’s Eoghan Slye saw a “Let’s Go Moment” similar to those it’s been using in campaigns since last fall.
