Ex-Greeneffect GM Opens Steele+

ATLANTA Former Adair-Greene executive Chris Steele has opened Steele+ with four accounts totaling $4 million in billings.

Steele said he would continue to handle HIT Entertainment, which holds the marketing licenses for Barney the Dinosaur and Bob the Builder; the Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta; and the media portion of Georgia-Pacific’s building materials division, an account A-G won in 2001.

Most recently, the new shop in Alpharetta, Ga., won the Hanson Brick account. The client in Charlotte, N.C., hired Steele+ following a review of undisclosed agencies.

The shop has also added project work from high-end faucet and fixture manufacturer Hansgrohe, also in Alpharetta.

Steele, who was executive vice president and general manager of the Interpublic Group shop’s consumer division, Greeneffect, left the Atlanta agency with 16 other staffers when IPG closed the unit in August.

He and two other A-G alums, senior vice president and group director Scott Coleman and media planner and buyer Scott Estep, opened for business Sept. 1.
