Eventbrite’s chief marketing officer, Brian Irving, is leaving the event management and ticketing platform to join Facebook as global head of marketing for augmented and virtual reality products.

Before joining the social network in March, Irving will take some time off to spend with his family. In his new role, he will report to Rebecca Van Dyck, Facebook’s chief marketing officer for AR and VR projects.

According to Facebook, Irving’s role is not a new one at the company, but he is not replacing anyone.

Irving joined Eventbrite in 2018 as chief brand officer before being promoted to chief marketing officer last year.
