EvansGroup Signs Creative Pros

LOS ANGELES–EvansGroup is attempting to strengthen its creative muscle by adding two executives to its eight-office network.

Gail Anne Grosso, a former senior vice president and creative director at Saatchi & Saatchi in New York, is joining the Seattle office as executive vice president and creative director. Denver ad veteran David Haifleigh also joined EvansGroup in that city as vice president of marketing, a new post.

‘We wanted to bring in creative talent to supplement what we already have,’ said Jon Johnson, chairman and chief executive officer of EvansGroup in Salt Lake City. ‘Our attitude is to put more resources against (the creative product).’

Grosso will assume day-to-day management of the Seattle creative department on June 30. The hire frees Michael Mogelgaard, the office’s creative chief and vice chairman and chief creative officer of the network, to devote more time to new business and managing the agency’s creative focus.

Grosso, currently vice president and director of advertising and promotion at The Ballantine Publishing Group in New York, said she wanted to return to the agency business after seven months in publishing. While at Saatchi, Grosso’s work included L’eggs and Playtex.
