Euro RSCG Forms ‘4D’ Network

Havas’ Euro RSCG Worldwide last week launched Euro RSCG 4D, a global marketing and digital services network that combines Euro RSCG Marketing Services, Euro RSCG Interaction and agencies that joined Euro’s fold last year in a Havas reorganization. Some of those shops, such as Brann Worldwide, had been part of the Arnold network. The four D’s stand for direct, digital, “drive”—which includes promotions, events and design—and data. George Gallate, president of the Interaction group, is CEO of New York-based 4D. (He continues as global brand director on Intel.) 4D has about 700 clients and a staff of more than 5,000.

Ad Council, Nets Unite on V-Chip

NEW YORK The Ad Council has teamed with ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC to develop PSAs that will educate parents about the V-chip. The electronic circuit, embedded in TV sets, allows parents to use the remote control to prevent kids from watching inappropriate programming. According to an Ad Council survey, 80 percent of parents are not aware the function is available.

Ikea Taps Santiago for Hispanic Ads

LOS ANGELES Ikea North America last week named independent Anita Santiago Advertising to handle Hispanic creative, media and PR. The Santa Monica, Calif., shop won the business without a review; there was no incumbent. Billings have not been determined. Ikea, whose lead agency is MDC’s Crispin Porter + Bogusky, spent $40 million on ads last year, according to Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
