NEW YORK ESPN has inked six category-exclusive deals with advertisers for its new mobile phone service.

Cisco Systems, Coors, General Motors, Hilton, Nike and Visa have signed deals to run ad programs within content on Mobile ESPN, which will launch in stores across the country on Feb. 5, 2006.

As part of the deals, each brand will receive animated video spots that will run prior to ESPN video content, plus banner ads on ESPN’s Web content.

Mobile ESPN is part of a major brand extension by the sports communications giant into the wireless space.
