The City of Boston is among the finalists being considered by the Democratic National Committee to host its convention in 2000.
At a recent Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting, Boston Mayor Thomas Menino unveiled a presentation intended to sway the site selection committee.
Competing against Los Angeles, New Orleans, Seattle, Philadelphia and Denver, Boston will be positioned as a historical mecca and the gateway to New England. Also highlighted will be the city’s walkable size.
The committee is due to visit Boston for two days in April when the blooms of the Public Garden and Beacon Hill are worthy of visiting.
