Ads are often filled with happy babies and parents, but few deal with the challenges that many people face when having a child. A new “Becoming Parents” campaign from eco-friendly, high-performing diaper and wipes brand Coterie and agency Wednesday shows the complex struggles involved in the path to parenthood.

A two-minute film titled The Modern Guide to Parenthood shows those struggles. Having sex can become a chore, failed pregnancy tests can become depressing, hormone injections are painful and gay men can face additional challenges when looking to adopt.
