British budget airline EasyJet has revived its top marketing role with the appointment of Robert Birge to the new position of chief customer and marketing officer (CCMO).

Staring later this month, Birge will sit on the airline’s management board with responsibility for marketing, digital, customer service, customer experience and insight.

He joins from online fast-fashion retailer Asos, where he was most recently chief customer officer.

Birge’s arrival at EasyJet comes two years after the travel brand retired its CMO role following the departure of longtime marketing boss Lis Blair, who jumped ship to energy firm Bulb in 2020.
