In today’s economic climate, agency meetings are all too often filled with bad news. But when Carmichael Lynch called its agency together last week the news was only good for John Merritt.

Merritt was the winner of a drawing during the meeting for a $6,000 Harley Davidson Roadster. The giveaway was the agency’s way of acknowledging its client’s recent induction into the Marketing Hall of Fame.

Upon winning the bike, Merritt, a counselor with the agency’s CL Spong PR division who’s only been with the agency six months, immediately called his 15-year-old son to share the news.

“He just didn’t believe it,” Merritt recalls.
