CHICAGO–Dyson has awarded duties on its estimated $30-40 million U.S. advertising account. Fallon Minneapolis will handle creative duties, while Mediacom in New York will handle media buying.

The agencies will handle the launch of the British-made vacuum cleaners in the U.S. Dyson has touted its cleaners as the only vacuums that don’t lose suction.

Publicis Groupe’s Fallon bested three other undisclosed agencies for the business. Other contenders for the media account included Publicis and Cordiant Communications’ Zenith Media, WPP’s Mediaedge:CIA and MindShare, and Aegis’ Carat, according to sources.
