Duffy to Introduce Sony to Chinese Market

CHICAGO Sony Corp. has tapped Fallon subsidiary Duffy Design to create the space for the company’s flagship store in Shanghai, China.

Duffy’s Asian and North American offices will be involved in the project, which includes branding, interior design, construction and merchandising for the store. The shop won the assignment after pitching against undisclosed, Asian design firms.

Sony’s 700-square-meter store will be in the heart of Shanghai’s retail district and is meant to introduce the brand and its products to the Chinese market, according to the agency.

“We are honored to be appointed to this project for one of the world’s greatest brands in one of the world’s most exciting markets,” said Duffy Design chairman Joe Duffy in a statement. Duffy Asia creative director Chris Lee will lead the project.

Fallon’s London and Tokyo offices handle Sony’s advertising in their local markets.
