CHICAGO Northwestern Mutual has selected Downtown Partners here as lead advertising agency on its estimated $20 million account, ending a nearly 60-year relationship with WPP Group’s JWT.

The Omnicom Group shop won the account after a review that included the incumbent, sibling BBDO in Chicago, as well as independents Hoffman York and Cramer-Krasselt, which both have offices in Chicago and Milwaukee, where the client has its headquarters. Jones Lundin Beals, Chicago, handled the search. The shop’s first work is expected in early 2006.
