Doug Houston has hired financial consultant David Weiner to solicit buyers for Houston’s ownership stake in two ad agencies, sources said.
Houston holds a controlling interest, believed to be 90 percent, in Houston Herstek Favat in Boston and has a minority stake in the New York and San Francisco offices of Hampel/Stefanides.
Houston confirmed that the consultant was asked to evaluate “three or four [buyout] offers” that he said he had received from other shops. Weiner continues to evaluate offers but is “not actively soliciting prospective buyers,” Houston said.
