Doner’s Retail Client Appoints CMO

CHICAGO Circuit City Direct president Fiona P. Dias has been designated senior vice president, chief marketing officer of the chain, replacing Ernest Speranza.

Dias, 39, has been with the Richmond, Va.-based retailer for five years, joining as svp of marketing and taking over Circuit City Direct two years ago.

Speranza, 59, took the CMO’s job in April 2004 after many years at Toys R Us.

Independent Doner in Southfield, Mich., won broadcast creative duties for Circuit City’s $150 million account last June following a review. The review began in February, shortly before Speranza’s arrival. Media buying is handled in-house.
