Doner Wins S-W's Broad Brush

Sherwin-Williams, the nation’s largest paint company, has assigned advertising for its entire portfolio of consumer brands to Doner following a review. Spending is estimated at $50 million.

The Cleveland-based company’s consumer brand work was previously split among several shops, including Wyse Advertising, Cleveland, and SBC Advertising, Westerville, Ohio. The Wolf Group, New York, had handled the Dutch Boy paint line, but the company severed that relationship before the review began, said John O’Brien, vice president of marketing for Sherwin-Williams’ consumer division.

Besides Doner, Wyse and SBC, Liggett-Stashower, Cleveland, also was a finalist in the review, O’Brien said.
