GroupM has expanded its leadership team with a new senior management position. On Thursday, WPP's media arm announced that it had named Dominic Proctor president of GroupM.

Proctor has a long history with GroupM. In 1997, he launched Mindshare Worldwide, WPP's first media agency, and has served as the shop's longtime CEO. Proctor began his career in advertising more than 30 years ago. By 1989, he had been named media director at JWT, and three years later, he rose to the role of the agency's chief executive.
