Disney, Fry Take Top Honors at WebAwards

NEW YORK Disney Online last week won best of show for Hot Shot Business, a fast-paced simulation game aimed at 9- to 12-year-old budding entrepreneurs, as a part of the seventh annual WebAward Competition.

The online exercise (www.disney.go.com/hotshot), which lets kids open and manage a pet spa, skateboard factory or comic-book shop, also was designated best game Web site and best education property.

The WebAwards, produced by the Web Marketing Association, recognizes excellence in Web site development based on design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, navigation and ease of use.

Fry Inc. was named top agency of the year, earning more awards than any other entrant. The Ann Arbor, Mich.-based interactive shop, which took home 17 awards for the second consecutive year, received accolades for its Web sites for Godiva Chocolatier (www.godiva.com), Waterford (www.waterford.com), Ragu (www.ragu.com) and Home & Garden Television (www.hgtv.com), among others.

Last year, Campbell-Ewald in Warren, Mich., nabbed best of show for its “Accelerate Your Life” online effort for the U.S. Navy.
