DirecTV Upgrading Online Customer Service

DirecTV has asked Agency.com, a New York-based i-shop, to relaunch its Web site this summer with features that allow customers to pay bills online, check their accounts and order programs and services.

Based in El Segundo, Calif., the digital satellite TV company said it expects the Web services to reduce customer service call volume and to increase the efficiency of sales and customer service operations.

As part of a longstanding relationship, Agency.com previously helped DirecTV take its order processing system online.
