DiMeo & Co. Makes College Bowl Buys For Amtrak Intercity

DiMeo & Co. is taking Amtrak to college bowl games.
The Chicago agency has made a print buy for client Amtrak Intercity in the official publications of 10 different college football bowl games. The buy covers the Fiesta Bowl in early January, in which the national championship will be decided, as well as the Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl and six others.
The agency, which handles local print and radio work for Amtrak in 300 markets, has created a special print ad for the bowl publications targeting both students and their parents. Headlined “The best ground game in the country,” the ad touts Amtrak’s Student Advantage discount program. For older travelers, copy stresses the trains’ “comfortable, couch-potato seats.”
