NEW YORK Digitas has promoted John Gonnella, a creative director in the independent marketing company’s Boston headquarters, to executive creative director of its Chicago outpost.

In the newly created post, Gonnella will manage a 40-person creative department and oversee strategy and creative for clients such as Allstate and Best Buy. He will report to Laura Lang, president of Digitas in New York and Chicago.
