The first holiday effort for Old Navy from IPG’s Deutsch/LA in Marina del Rey, Calif., set to run up to Christmas weekend, broke last week with two spots touting sweaters, the agency said. In the ads, moms are caught off-guard when Old Navy carolers sing holiday songs with altered, offbeat lyrics. Four spots will be released later in the fall. Old Navy, a Gap subsidiary, spent $180 million on ads in ’03, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
