ATLANTA – Delta Air Lines was the only one of ‘Big Three’ to make the top three in JD Power’s first airline industry quality ranking. The global giant came in second in domestic long-haul travel, after Northwest. Continental placed third. For short-haul trips of less than 1,000 miles, the top three were Alaska Airlines, Southwest Airlines and Delta. The two largest U.S. carriers, American and United, rated conspicuously below par in the survey of 14,000 frequent travelers taken this fall.
