Deal Joins Jack Morton as Senior CD

SAN FRANCISCO Interpublic Group’s experiential marketing agency Jack Morton Worldwide has hired veteran marketing consultant Rob Deal to head its office here, the shop said.

Deal, 43, will lead the San Francisco shop’s 22 employees as senior creative director, according to an agency representative. He will be creative leader on accounts such as LifeScan, Hewlett-Packard and Sanford Hospital & Clinics, among others.

Deal has worked on consumer experiences for Levi’s, Coca-Cola and other global brands, the agency said.

Since 2002, he has been an independent marketing consultant, responsible for experiential marketing and sponsorship for clients such as Visa, Levi’s and Clear Channel. From 1998 to 2001, he was event manager for Levi’s worldwide presence and publicity division, responsible for marketing and public relations events including mobile tours, concert sponsorships, and a variety of product launches and store openings.

He also did experiential marketing as part of the Coca-Cola presence at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. A San Francisco resident since 1991, Deal had an eight-year tenure as staff designer for the Ritz-Carlton Hotel’s flagship hotel in Atlanta.
