Anheuser-Busch has drawn from its archives and brewing history to produce a 30-minute “docu-mercial” on the history of beer, created by lead agency DDB Needham Chicago.
It is the brewer’s first foray into long-form commercials to promote its beer, although it has created them for Busch Gardens through Needham.
The half-hour program focuses on the history of beer in America and “positions A-B as a pioneer,” said Manny Flores, vice president of marketing development at A-B.
A-B is considering a second infomercial-length piece, via Needham, that would cover the history of brew masters at A-B, Flores said.
