Davis Heads RCW’s Dallas Office

DALLAS Former Pizza Hut marketing executive Cindy Davis is running Rapp Collins Worldwide here after she was hired to fill the newly created position of managing director.

Davis replaces former RCW chairman John Jastrem, who shifted to president of The Marketing Arm, another Omnicom Group agency in May.

As vice president of brand marketing for Dallas-based Pizza Hut, part of the YUM! Brands group, Davis was responsible for brand positioning, strategic development, and national and field marketing. Before that, she was executive vice president at BBDO, Dallas, where she handled the national Pizza Hut account and served as adjunct to the client’s marketing department. She also has held executive brand marketing positions in the hospitality industry at Starwood Vacation Ownership, Promus Hotel Corp. and Harrah’s Entertainment.

One of RCW Dallas’ largest clients is the Hyatt hotel chain. Other accounts include Sun Trust Banks, Direct Energy, Hewlett-Packard and Continental Airlines.

“We have a nice selection of blue-chip clients,” said Davis, who has begun traveling to meet clients. “In my first 30 days, my goal is to meet all of my key clients and to meet the folks in the Dallas office.”

RCW chairman Gary Von Kennel said Davis was selected for her experience, noting that she “combines strong strategic thinking with a creative approach to problem solving that will help drive our client programs.”

Davis began her career at Tracy-Locke/DDB Needham in Dallas, where she rose to senior vice president, working with clients such as Budget Rent-a-Car, Embassy Suites, Frito-Lay, PepsiCo beverage brands and Mountain Bell/US West telecommunications.
