C&W/Red Cell Hires Production Director

LOS ANGELES WPP Group’s Cole & Weber/Red Cell has tapped Christine Allen as director of broadcast production, according to agency co-president Mike Doherty. Allen has been involved with shop projects since earlier this month.

Doherty explained that the addition of Allen enhances the Seattle-based agency’s ability to develop “nontraditional marketing solutions” for clients “searching for new and different ways to reach consumers.”

To that end, Allen will focus on traditional television spots, as well as long-form commercials, videos, short films and TV programs, he said. Last year, C&W/Red Cell client Rainier Beer saw measurable success with the latter, via the agency-produced, 11-episode RainierVision TV series.

“The agency needs people who can visualize how many levels of communication can be brought together to complement one another,” Doherty said. “We needed somebody like Chris. We’re very excited about it.”

Prior to joining C&W/Red Cell, Allen served as the East regional events manager of the Association of Independent Commercial Producers in New York. She has also held producer roles at Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG and documentary production company Broadcast News Networks, both in New York.
