Crushed Shows It’s A Survivor

Crushed was nearly voted out of the theater.
The producers of the half-scripted, half-improvised movie about 24 hours in the life of an ad agency had scheduled a screening at Chicago’s Vic theater at 8 p.m. on Aug. 23. Unfortunately, that time and date coincides with Survivor’s final episode and the venue (which doubles as a bar) hosts a Survivor screening every Wednesday night.
Undaunted, the filmmakers agreed to push back the screening time an hour to make room for the show’s conclusion.
Producer A.J. Hassan, by day a copy supervisor at Leo Burnett, sees a bright side to the delay.
With the popularity of Survivor expected to reach a fever pitch by the final episode, there’s a strong chance some hangers-on will stick around for the film, she said.
