Cronin & Co. took top honors at the Advertising Club of Connecticut’s 47th annual awards for creative excellence.

More than 500 entries were submitted to the show, which was held last Tuesday at the West Hartford Meeting & Conference Center. Overall, 63 gold, silver and bronze prizes were awarded.

Glastonbury, Conn.-based Cronin won best of show honors for a film trailer the agency produced on behalf of The Jimmy Fund. Titled “Strong as Iron,” the trailer tells the true story of the friendship formed between cancer patients and iron workers building a new research center at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

The two-minute film, which ran in East Coast movie theaters to generate awareness and help raise money for the Jimmy Fund, reenacted scenes of children and workers communicating via paper signs on the clinic’s windows and the building’s steel beams.
