Inspiration meets innovation at Brandweek, the ultimate marketing experience. Join industry luminaries, rising talent and strategic experts in Phoenix, Arizona this September 23–26 to assess challenges, develop solutions and create new pathways for growth. Register early to save.

Mazza, who will be primarily responsible for Goodby’s Isuzu account, will pair up with Dave O’Hare, the first partner he worked with in advertising when both were with WFC Advertising in Phoenix.
The high-profile creative appointment is the latest since the shop’s co-principals and co-creative directors, Rich Silverstein and Jeffrey Goodby, began decentralizing last year.
Mazza, whose contributions to Team One’s Lexus, Santa Monica Bank and Beechcraft campaigns helped the shop land six Belding Bowls at the L.A. award show this year, said he was making the move for ‘lifestyle reasons. I’ve been in L.A. for six years. Given the choice between L.A. and San Francisco – and this was a really great opportunity – I really like it up there,’ he said.
Mazza has been with El Segundo, Calif.-based Team One for two years and worked with the shop for eight months prior to that as a freelancer. Before that, he spent about three-and-a-half years at Chiat/Day, where he worked on the Nissan, Yamaha motorcycle and Eveready battery accounts.
Silverstein said he’d been familiar with Mazza’s work and wanted to hire him for some time. The shop has been seeking a partner for O’Hare since Dave Page left for Ammirati & Puris/N.Y. about a year ago.
The agency restructured last year, adding an additional layer – associate creative director – to the creative department.
