Creative Changes at McCann

DETROIT McCann-Erickson is expanding its creative team, including the addition of a high-level executive for the General Motors account.

Simon Chandler joins the Troy, Mich.-based agency as vice president, creative director on the GM corporate and Buick accounts. Most recently a freelance art director, he was a senior vice president and associate creative director at Young & Rubicam in San Francisco. The U.K. native also has held high-level positions at Goldberg Moser O’Neill in San Francisco and Lowe & Partners in New York. His creative credits include Lincoln/Mercury, Kia and Microsoft. He reports to Dave Moore, executive vice president and executive creative director.

Other new McCann additions include Gary Howell, who has been named associate creative director on Delphi and Buick collateral print. Previously, he was at D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles’ Troy office, where he worked on Cadillac and Pontiac.

Justin Trapp and Nicky Wawrzyniak join the agency as junior copywriter and junior art director, respectively. Trapp was a copywriter at Doner in Southfield, Mich., while Wawrzyniak was at Simons Michelson Zieve in Troy.
