CP+B’s Roper Returns to Miami HQ

LOS ANGELES The top creative director at independent Crispin Porter + Bogusky’s West Coast office has decided to remain with the agency and return to Miami, he said.

Tim Roper, who replaced Sally Hogshead as the Venice, Calif., shop’s creative director in March 2003, worked at CP+B’s Miami office from 1996 to 2000. When the agency said that it was shuttering its creative wing [Adweek, May 24], the fate of non-media personnel was left open. “The agency has offered all the staff members in L.A. the opportunity to relocate to the Miami office,” the shop said in May.

“I got a deluge of calls, offers, ideas and suggestions when the closing was announced,” said Roper, “but it was a no-brainer to return home.”

Commenting on the shop’s recent wins at the Athena, Belding, Clio and One Show creative competitions, Roper said, “All of our awards seem to be catching up with us as we leave town.”
