Cossette N.Y. Engages Vann for Digital

NEW YORK Cossette has named seasoned exec Toby Vann svp, director of digital engagement for its 45-person New York office.

Vann (shown) succeeds Christian Quenneville, who left the shop last fall after holding the post for a year.

Vann joins from Roundarch, a digital consultancy, where he served as social media executive director. Prior to that, he held senior posts at IconNicholson and Razorfish. At the latter, he led the Capital One account.
Now, he will lead five full-time digital staffers engaged in developing communications programs across the office’s entire client roster, which includes McGraw-Hill, the U.S. Coast Guard and Estee Lauder, among others. The shop claims about 25 percent of its 1,600-person worldwide staff is engaged in digital marketing efforts.

Cossette president Sally Kennedy said of Vann’s selection: “It was critical that we found both a strategic and creative thinker but also someone with strong, hands-on, project management experience.”

Vann said Cossette’s standing as a future-focused, “hybrid agency” adept at old and new media were key draws.

Cossette has boosted its U.S. profile in recent months. It bested several domestic shops to win the Waterford business late last year, shortly after adding Bill Oberlander, a former ecd at Interpublic Group’s McCann Erickson, as CCO.
