BBDO West has lost its two herbicide accounts, Roundup and Ortho, in a consolidation by The Scotts Co.
The company assigned ad duties on the two brands, worth an estimated $20 million in billings, to Partners & Shevack/Wolf, New York, which handles advertising for the client’s
other brands, including its Miracle-Gro and Turf Builder fertilizers.
“These two events are unfortunate,” said Tom Hollerbach, president and chief executive officer at BBDO West, “but [Scotts] is absolutely a consolidation issue.”
