Connors Signs On Again with IPG

BOSTON Jack Connors has renewed his contract with Interpublic Group and will remain CEO and chairman of Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos, a four-office agency network based in Boston.

Connors confirmed that he has re-upped with the New York-based holding company but would disclose no other details. It is believed that he agreed to serve five more years. His previous five-year hitch was set to expire in April.

“Every promise they’ve made to us, they’ve kept. Every promise we’ve made to them, we’ve kept,” said Connors of his decision to stay aboard.
In late 2001, the 60-year-old chief executive named Mike Sheehan president of Hill, Holliday’s national operations, marking him as Connors’ heir apparent.

Connors co-founded Boston-based Hill, Holliday 35 years ago, selling to IPG in 1998 in a deal valued at $70-100 million. The agency has estimated billings of $825 million; key clients include FleetBoston Financial, CVS, Dunkin’ Donuts and TJX’s Marshalls.
