Coke Marketer to Depart

NEW YORK Coca-Cola today said Randy Ransom, the svp who headed up marketing on full-calorie, trademark Coke brands, is leaving the company after a decade.

Katie Bayne, previously svp of integrated marketing at the Atlanta-based company, takes over Ransom’s responsibilities while also overseeing the diet brands.

Dan Dillon, who had run the company’s diet drinks business, will oversee the new Portfolio Strategies Group, which focuses on packaging, health and wellness and other issues.

Earlier in the month, Tom Long, who ran Coke’s operations in Western Europe, was named CMO of Miller Brewing; Coke group director Steve Schiller was appointed vp, marketing for Steak ‘n’ Shake; and group director, entertainment Geoff Cottrill took a position as vp, music and entertainment at Starbucks.
