Coffee, Tea And Torts

Targetbase Marketing, part of Irving, Texas-based M/A/R/C Group, has unveiled a traditional campaign for a decidedly nontraditional endeavor.
Print and in-store poster executions from Targetbase bring attention to Legal Grounds, a Dallas storefront that operates as both a coffee shop and a law office.
No, patrons do not get legal advice from busboys working their way through law school. Dallas attorney David Musslewhite co-owns the cafe with wife Leslie Murphy and offers customers a choice of two different menus: one for “coffee drinks, teas and desserts; the other [for] speeding tickets, uncontested divorces and other legal services,” according to Targetbase.
Examples of ad copy: “Some fighters of injustice have telephone booths. Ours has a coffee shop.”
Or, “Now we do what most lawyers do best. Lunch.”
The marketing company came in contact with Legal Grounds through one of the store’s regulars, Targetbase copywriter Will Clarke. Just to make perfectly clear Clarke’s reasons for attendance, Targetbase mentioned he attends a regular writers group meeting there.
