Coca-Cola Betting New Drink Isn’t A Lemon

NEW YORK–This month, Coca-Cola begins shipping its newest innovation, Diet Coke with Lemon, nationwide. The drink, which debuted in the Midwest last month, was originally slated to hit shelves this past summer. However, the cola giant delayed the launch as it tinkered with the formula.

Diet Coke with Lemon will receive print and out-of-home ads, per Wieden + Kennedy, Portland, bearing the tagline “Introducing Lemon.” Sampling, coupons and premium giveaways will support.

PepsiCo tested its lemon-flavored Pepsi Twist and Diet Pepsi Twist late last year. It rolled out the drink to limited markets during the summer and plans to launch the drink nationwide.
