Gustav Martner earned his first gold at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in 2007 for a car ad. This week, he crashed the opening ceremony of the 2022 festival to give it back.

Now head of creative at Greenpeace Nordic, Martner has a simple message for the ad industry this week: Stop making ads for products that are fueling climate change. That includes fossil fuel companies or the high-carbon industries (like cars and planes) that rely on them.
