Cliff Freeman Takes Ben & Jerry’s

NEW YORK — Cliff Freeman and Partners has won the estimated $5-10 million Ben & Jerry’s creative account following a review, sources said

The New York shop beat out the other three finalists, roster shop Fitch of Ann Arbor, Mich., Crispin Porter & Bogusky in Miami, and Bozell in New York.

Two-year incumbent Black Rocket Euro RSCG in San Francisco had been eliminated in an earlier round. AAR Partners is the New York consultancy that managed the process.

The South Burlington, Vt., client wants a long-term, image-based marketing plan, sources said.

The account is the fourth win this year for Cliff Freeman and Partners, which has also won $50 million Value City Department Stores, which includes DSW Shoe Warehouse and Working Today, a non-for-profit organization through which freelance workers can obtain health and financial benefits.

Ben & Jerry’s was acquired by Unilever in 2000.
