Clear Channel Airs PSAs for Unicef

DALLAS Clear Channel Radio stations across the country are airing public service announcements urging listeners to support the United States Fund for Unicef in its efforts to raise monies for victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Southeast Asia, the company said.

The PSAs, recorded by several Unicef celebrity ambassadors, will air through Jan. 16. Each station will play the announcements between 40 and 50 times this week, the company said.

Based in San Antonio, Clear Channel has more than 1,200 radio stations with more than 110 million listeners, the company said.

The immediate Unicef response will consist of survival essentials including emergency health supplies, oral re-hydration therapies, water purification tablets, high-protein biscuits and basic shelter materials.
