Clean Shave for Panasonic’s Sonic Man

NEW YORK — Panasonic Thursday will unveil Sonic Man — the new spokesperson for Panasonic Sonic Shaving Max shavers.

The animated, goateed Sonic Man has as much zeal for the shaver as Orlando Jones does for his 7 Up. In two spots, per Kaplan Thaler, New York, Sonic Man runs around city streets showing strangers that Sonic Shaving Max is the fastest men’s shaver, wet or dry. Each spot signs off with the shaver removing part of the Panasonic brand name, leaving “sonic” behind

The spots will run for a six-week period across network and cable. Spending was not revealed. Last year, Secaucus, NJ-based Panasonic spent $4 million in media on its shavers, per CMR.
