Cisco Narrows Search to 3

SAN FRANCISCO–Cisco Systems confirmed that it has narrowed its search for its estimated $50-60 million account to three agencies.

The shops remaining in the pitch include Grey and JWT & Tonic both in San Francisco and TBWA\Chiat\Day in Playa del Rey, Calif., said Jere King, vp worldwide marketing communications at Cisco.

Sources said that the Internet networking company is looking for a conservative approach from agencies as it seeks to rebound from the dot-com malaise.

A group briefing will be held at the client’s San Jose, Calif.-based offices on March 14. Agency presentations would take place in early May to June.

Cisco previously worked with Hill, Holliday in San Francisco.
