CHICAGO McCann-Erickson’s European creative director, Eric Stein, has been tapped by DDB Chicago as a creative director on the $200 million J.C. Penney account.

Stein will report to group creative director Paul Brourman, an agency representative said.

Stein worked at McCann’s office in Frankfurt, Germany, as creative director, group head of Pan-European brands on accounts such as Opel Worldwide, General Motors and Nescafe.

He is no stranger to the American advertising community. Prior to McCann, Stein was an art director at Saatchi & Saatchi in Los Angeles and New York, working on Diesel, DuPont, Kodak and Toyota, among other brands.
