Casino Operator Appoints Loomis

DALLAS-The Loomis Agency has landed its first customer relationship management assignment following the recruitment of SD Marketing president Carl Thompson to lead the agency’s new CRM division.

Harveys Casino Resorts of Lake Tahoe, Nev., has hired the Dallas agency to handle a data analysis project to better align its marketing, ad-vertising and customer services. The client owns or operates resorts in Nevada, Colorado and Iowa. Advertising is handled in-house.

SD Marketing until recently operated as a unit of Dallas-based Senior Direct, which generated elderly and aging boomer business leads for the insurance industry. With the arrival of Thompson four years ago, the firm entered new categories such as travel, healthcare, financial services and assisted living.

“The owner of Senior Direct wanted to continue to focus on the core business of generating sales leads for insurance,” said Thompson. “It appeared that the best option I had was to take my group and look for a suitor.”

Loomis, he said, “was a nice fit.”

Thompson, 34, joins the agency as senior vice president. His career includes posts at Ogilvy & Mather, Chicago; GSD&M, Austin, Texas; and Temerlin McClain, Irving, Texas.
