MMB has long worked on Subway’s campaigns, so I was intrigued by what the Boston agency might cook up in its debut effort for such a markedly different restaurant chain like Carrabba’s. We get a guy who is so enamored of the Italian eatery’s food, he can recite the menu better than any of its waiters. Then a real waiter shows up, and the imposter returns to his seat. That’s about it. At first, I thought this might be a parody of predictable commercials, or that I had missed some subtler joke or misunderstood the punchline.
