Carmichael Lynch to Introduce Indigo Palms

CHICAGO Clothing maker Tommy Bahama has tapped Carmichael Lynch to launch a new division called Indigo Palms, according to the agency.

The Minneapolis shop bested Arnold in Boston for the business in a review, according to the agency. The line focuses on denim and denim-related sportswear for men and women. The men’s line is already sold in specialty and department stores. The women’s line will hit retail shelves in spring 2004.

“The people at Indigo Palms were intrigued and impressed by our ability to hone in on the heart of a lifestyle brand as we do for Harley-Davidson, Porsche and Gibson guitars,” said Roman Paluta, CL’s chief marketing officer, in a statement.

CL’s assignment is not expected to affect advertising for the company’s signature line of shirts and clothing, currently at Foundation in Seattle.

Billings for the assignment were not disclosed. The Seattle apparel company spent just over $5 million on all advertising through September of this year, according to Nielson Monitor-Plus.
