Carat Taps Russell to Lead Boston Office

NEW YORK Carat Interactive said it has named Mark Russell as the new senior vice president and managing director of its Boston office.

Russell, 37, comes to the Aegis Group-owned interactive agency from Connelly Partners, a Boston-based independent advertising shop, where he was managing director of interactive.

He joined Connelly in 2004, when it bought C-Quential, an online brand marketing company Russell founded in 2001. Nestle Purina, Jabber and Register.com were among his clients at Connelly.

Russell replaces Manu Matthew, who recently left Carat, and he will report to Toby Gabriner, the agency’s president.

Russell will lead new business efforts and oversee services for clients such as AOL, Gateway and Wachovia.

Carat Interactive, based in San Francisco, has six other U.S. offices.
