College football seemingly expands its slate of bowl games each year. There are 41 this season alone. And most of those bowl games have sponsors looking to catch the attention of college football fans. Even the lesser marquee bowl games like Mitsubishi Motors Las Vegas Bowl registered ratings (2.25) nearly as high Game 7 of the ALCS this year (2.75). In other words, for ESPN, bowl season is king.

Brands from Belk and Dollar General to Bad Bad Mowers and AARP (OK, AARP did not sponsor a bowl game in Fort Lauderdale) have slapped their names on the never-ending slate of bowl games.
